Facing the challenges of life involves tolerating the experience
of inner conflict. Recognizing inner conflicts is a crucial facet
of constructive deliberation and decision making, and resolving such
conflicts gives direction to one's existence. All too often,
however, patterns of unresolved inner conflict become cemented into
one's personality during the formative stages of individual
development. When this occurs, ambivalence, hesitation, and
impulsiveness predominate at both the psychological and the somatic
level. It then becomes necessary to bring these restrictive
patterns into awareness and to dissolve them so that the vital forces
of a healthier way of living can be activated.
The lecture will be informal, with ample opportunity for
questions. Some basic, bioenergetic exercises will be
demonstrated, with an opportunity for participation by volunteers.
